Winston-Salem State University – As a direct response to a tip that shots were fired in the neighborhood around the university, the campus of Winston-Salem State University is currently under lockdown. This decision was made in response to the tip. Following the recommendation of the report, the university implemented the appropriate safety measures.

Officers from the Winston-Salem Police Department have indicated that they have not uncovered any evidence on campus to show that there was a gunshot. The campus of Western State Colorado University (WSSU) has been placed in lockdown mode as a precautionary safety measure. As of this moment, there has not been a single person reported to have been injured as a direct result of the incident that took place earlier.
