Virgil Marchand Obituary, Death – Virgil “Smoker” Marchand was an artist who was a member of the Arrow Lakes Band of the Colville Confederated Tribes and the Okanagan Nation Alliance. His untimely passing has left all of us here at Nk’Mip Cellars in a state of profound grief as a direct result of his passing. Mr. Marchand was a member of both of these groups. Virgil “Smoker” Marchand was a part of both of these groups throughout his time in the industry. Virgil “Smoker” Marchand belonged to the Colville Confederated Tribe in addition to the Arrow Lakes Band of the Okanagan Nation Alliance. He was known as “Smoker.”

Throughout the course of his career in the industry, Virgil “Smoker” Marchand was a member of both of these groups at different points in time. It is not possible to assign a monetary value to the work that Smoker has done in the field of art due to the sheer volume of contributions he has made over the course of his career. Even after he has passed away, his art, which is scattered all across the Okanagan Valley, will continue to act as a source of motivation for next generations since it is so widely accessible. His body of work will serve as a testament to his legacy. His contributions may be plainly seen in each and every one of these different areas.

It is an honor for us to display Smoker’s artwork all throughout the estate, both inside the winery as well as outside on the grounds of the estate. His work may be found in both indoor and outdoor settings. The vineyard’s interior as well as its exterior are adorned with Smoker’s paintings and drawings. This includes both the inside and exterior portions of the structure. During this trying time, we want his family and the others who were close to him to know that they are in our thoughts and that we are expressing our condolences to them. Our hearts are broken because of the terrible loss that they have gone through, and we are grieving for them. Smoker, our thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue your search for peace of mind and may the fact that you will be much missed bring you some measure of consolation in the while.
