Thad Beckman Obituary, Death – I only found out about the demise of singer-songwriter and longtime friend Thad Beckman just now, and the news has left me in a state of profound melancholy. In the 1990s, we spent a lot of time together in Austin, Texas, just hanging out and talking about a variety of themes, such as life and music, sometimes even while I was repairing his autos as is my routine habit. Some of the topics we discussed included life and the music industry. In addition to being an excellent guitarist, one of the things about his songwriting that particularly impressed me was the way he was able to incorporate aspects of poetry.
I haven’t had the opportunity to get up with him in a very long time because he relocated to the northwest several years ago, and we haven’t been able to get together since then. Despite this, we have been able to keep in touch with one another through Facebook, and I have access to his music on YouTube. Because I’m at work and don’t have time to write much more or dig through his catalog in search of the most fitting music to share, I’ll just leave you with this evergreen tune to think about in the meantime so you can pass the time. I hope you enjoy it. It was much too soon for you to pass away, Thad; may you finally find the peace you seek.
