Ted Savage Death, Obituary – In addition to his role as an outfielder for the Cardinals, Ted Savage was a prominent figure in the front office of the team for a significant portion of its history. The tragic news of his passing has caused all of us to feel an overwhelming sense of loss. After working as the Athletic Director at Harris-Stowe State University, which is located in the area, the person who was born and raised in the St. Louis metropolitan area spent the next 25 years working in our Community Relations department.
Prior to then, he had played in the Major League Baseball for a total of nine years, including parts of three different seasons with the Redbirds. After his career in baseball ended, he returned to his hometown in the St. Louis region. The news has made me feel extremely disheartened and helpless. My family and I had the pleasure of spending time with him in the Cardinal dugout, in his office, and at a Cardinal game, where he and his wife sat with us. We also had the opportunity to spend time with him while he was coaching the Cardinals.
In addition to that, we were able to spend some time with him even though he was busy coaching the Cardinals. Ted, I am deeply sorry to hear about the loss of a member of your family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I pray that you find eternal rest. During this trying time, the family of Mr. Savage and all of his other friends and loved ones are very much in our thoughts and prayers.
