Susan Anderson Death, Obituary – On Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the young age of 28, Susan Elise Anderson, daughter of Kimberly Kurta Martin and the late Daniel Todd Anderson and stepdaughter of David A. Martin Jr., went away unexpectedly. Susan was the stepdaughter of David A. Martin Jr. Susan’s birth took place in Ironwood on October 2, 1994, and she remained a student in the district until she was 16 years old, at which point she moved to Mt. Pleasant. She was well-liked throughout various areas and brought smiles, laughter, and happiness to the hearts of all those she came in contact with.
She was a young woman who cherished the little things in life and had a genuine appreciation for their beauty. Susan’s adoptive parents, Tom and Deanna Curtiss, provided her with a home in Mount Pleasant, and she attended and graduated from school there. She also found work there doing volunteer work. She traveled to lower Michigan each week for her autism training and activities, where she was making great strides in accomplishing many of her goals. Susan possessed an extremely smart spirit and an extremely childlike sense of humor.
Her pastime was making things, and she enjoyed spending time outdoors doing things like riding ATVs, going to beagle competitions, fishing, and swimming. She will be greatly missed, and those who had the privilege of knowing her will never forget her. Susan’s stepfather, David A. Martin Jr.; mother, Kimberly Kurta Martin; brother, Daniel Todd (Kelsey) Anderson II; sister, Sierra Anderson; niece, Ireland Rose Anderson; and a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins survive her.
