Steve McNally Death, Obituary – During his lifetime, Father Steve McNally was a man of many guises, and he was known to a large number of people. He held a number of different titles. In addition to the duties he performed in Company 4 as Chaplain, Brother, and Friend, he was responsible for a wide variety of other important responsibilities. Today, the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department had the privilege of transporting him to the place in which he will continue to reside for the foreseeable future. The void in our lives that will be caused by his passing will not be able to be filled, but the legacy that he leaves behind will carry on in eternity.
Chaplain 497, I pray that you are finally able to find the peace and quiet that you so much deserve. Soon after returning to Bedford from his time spent serving in a remote location as a missionary in 2001, Father McNally was offered the position of Pastor at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. He accepted the position and began his tenure there in 2002. He remained in that position until June 2009, when he was called to serve as the Pastor of Church of the Transfiguration in Fincastle and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in New Castle. Both of those churches are located in New Castle.
Up until June of 2009, he remained in those positions of responsibility. He was given the role of pastoral oversight of both St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton Forge and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covington in February of 2011. Both of these churches are located in Covington.
