
AMERICUS, GA – According to reports from the Americus Police Department, Wednesday saw a number of shooting events that resulted in two persons being hurt. The police said that they arrived at the flats located at 60 Cherokee Street just before noon after receiving reports of firearms being fired. According to the police, officers promptly spotted a woman with a minor cut to her foot along with many shell shells. The woman had been shot. A report and the facts presented to them led the police to assume that there was a second victim of the incident.
After afterwards, police were sent to an apartment on 16th Green St. where they found a man who had been shot. After then, the man was transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, where, according to the authorities, he is currently in extremely critical condition. At this time, the authorities have not made any public statements regarding a direct connection to the shootings. According to both the Georgia Bureau of Inquiry and the Americus police department, this investigation is still ongoing.
