Ruby Furey Death, Obituary – Ruby Furey has left us, and we are sad to be the ones to deliver the news to you all. She was a wonderful person. Our warmest condolences go out to you all. Ruby has contributed such a substantial amount of time and energy to the Canterbury Baseball Club during the course of her membership there that she is now recognized as a life member of the organization. Her work as a social volunteer and canteen manager for the organization was very beneficial to the club, and as a result, the club benefited greatly from her efforts.
It is inconceivable that the club could have made it to the position that it is at without her involvement and assistance. The Furey family has our heartfelt regrets, and we would want to take this occasion to express our gratitude to her for everything she has done to promote not just the club but also the game of baseball in general. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything that you have done for us. Before today’s games at McLaughlin, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Ruby in order to recognize the significant contributions that she made to both the club and the larger baseball community.
On Monday, January 16, at 2:15 p.m., the funeral will take place at The Lodge Chapel, Woronora Park, which can be found in Sutherland at 121 Linden Street. Those who wish to pay their respects to the deceased are encouraged to be present at the service in order to do so.
