Ross Comeaux Obituary, Death – From Metro Police The 18th of January, 2023 – The investigation into the fatal accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon continues after a driver who was involved in a single-car crash on I-65 North walked out of the ambulance in which he was being treated, went into a traffic lane, and was hit by a semi-truck. The incident occurred on I-65 North. According to the results of the preliminary inquiry, Ross Comeaux, 46, of Brentwood, was driving a BMW 528i sedan in the direction of northbound traffic when he collided with a metal railing on the right shoulder and then went into a concrete wall.
Comeaux was receiving medical assistance following the collision when the first officer arrived at the scene just before 3:45 p.m. Comeaux told the paramedic that he had forgotten something just before the police arrived. Comeaux got out of the ambulance and sprinted across the interstate toward the center median to get away from the ambulance. Meanwhile, his vehicle came to a stop on the right side of the interstate. After that, he was hit by the driver of a semi-truck traveling in the northern direction.
It was determined that he had passed away at the site. Before the crash that resulted in Comeaux’s death, the officer was unable to engage in conversation with him. There were no indications that either Comeaux or the semi driver had any kind of impairment.
