Ron Menor Death, Obituary – We would like to offer our sincerest sympathies to Ron Menor, who previously served on the City Council and was an advocate for parks. In addition, we would like to send our thanks and our aloha to him. In addition to achieving a great deal of success in his roles as a member of the Honolulu City Council and a State Legislator, Ron was also one of the key figures in the establishment of the Patsy T. Mink Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP). Ron was an indispensable member of the team that was responsible for the organization and support of any event that was held at this prominent park location.
These images, in point of fact, encapsulate some of the most treasured memories that we have of Ron while he was working at CORP. They were taken during the blessing of the off-leash dog park, the renaming of the tennis center in honor of Jarand M.Y. Iwase, the recognizing of the work of the CORP Board at the City Council, and the last event that he helped organize in the park, which was the planting of 16 shower trees at the makai-end of the park to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Honolulu County Parks and Recreation Department. Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife and sons, as well as the rest of the Menor
‘Ohana and everyone else whose lives were impacted by this dedicated public worker during his time here on Earth. I pray that you, Ron, may always be at ease. It is going to be very difficult to move on without you.
