Pierre Aubry Obituary, Death – On January 11, 2023, André Pierre Aubry, who was 67 years old, passed away suddenly in the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He passed away without suffering and with his family by his side. Pierre Aubry spent his childhood in Alexandria, Ontario, despite the fact that he was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, to parents Gabriel Aubry and Juliette Dubois. He was the devoted and adored spouse of Jane Dudley for a period of forty years, the proud and doting father of Eric Aubry, and the father-in-law of Jessica Menard. He passed away in 2010. Emma and Laura Menard-Aubry adored and devotedly cared for their grandfather. He was their grandpapa.
His brothers Jean and Richard Aubry and his sisters Louise Aubry, Elaine Bancroft, and Claire Gorman, as well as his sisters-in-law Heather Aubry and Darquise Aubry, are among those who will carry on Pierre’s legacy after his passing. John Bancroft and Robert Gorman, who were his brothers-in-law, passed away before he did. In addition, Jane’s siblings Moira, Jim, and Shelagh Dudley, as well as their significant others Martin Kitamura and Elizabeth Dawson, as well as a large number of Jane’s nieces and nephews, will grieve the loss of Pierre.
Pierre is a graduate of both York University and the University of Ottawa, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a bachelor of laws degree, respectively. Pierre began his legal career in 1982, the same year he was admitted to the bar, by joining the Alexandria office of Mcdonald & Aubry, which is now known as Aubry Campbell MacLean. He was a contributing member of his community and was involved in a wide variety of organizations over the course of his life. Some of these organizations include the Alexandria and District Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club, le Club Richelieu, the Liberal Party of Canada, and the Liberal Party of Ontario.
He was a member of the boards of directors at both St. Lawrence College and Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital, both of which he eventually became chairman of. In addition to that, he was a member of the Council of Regents. He was a driving force behind the establishment of the Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation as well as the implementation of public schools teaching in French in the municipality of Glengarry. The loving and supportive affection that Pierre always showed to his family and friends, along with his vivid intellect and sense of humor, will be sorely missed by all of them.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the emergency medical personnel, as well as the entire medical staff, and in particular the nursing staff at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, for the excellent care that was provided to Pierre. On the 20th of January, 2023, there will be a gathering to celebrate Pierre’s life. The event will take place at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue in Ottawa, Ontario. Because there is a limit to the number of guests that can be accommodated at the location, the family will start greeting their close friends at twelve in the afternoon. Those who desire to make a donation in his memory are requested to consider giving to either the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation or the Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation. Both of these organizations held a special place in his heart and were important to him.
