Peter Sawyer Death, Obituary – We are sorry to inform you that Peter Sawyer has died away. He was a beloved family member and friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter’s family and friends during this difficult time. In 1992, the Laubach Literacy Canada LLC Award of Excellence was presented to Peter Laubach as a token of appreciation. Peter was not only the one who was responsible for founding the Moncton Regional Learning Council and Laubach Literacy New Brunswick, but he was also the person who started both of these organizations. In addition to this, Peter was the pioneer who established the Laubach Literacy Canada organization. In addition to this, in the year 2013,
the Literacy Coalition of New Brunswick bestowed upon him the Outstanding Literacy Tutor of the Year award. He holds the distinction of being the very first teacher to ever be awarded with this accolade. In the same year, in recognition of his many accomplishments, a medal of the Moncton Order was bestowed upon him. The Prime Ministers of Canada presented him with the Council of the Federation Literacy Award in the year 2020 as a gesture of their appreciation for all he has done for the country. Peter put in a lot of effort to advance adult literacy in New Brunswick, and a large percentage of the people who are here today because they want to show their support for this cause are here because of how dedicated Peter was to the cause.
In other words, Peter is largely responsible for the fact that so many people are here today. It is an honor for us to continue the work that Peter placed such a high priority on in his own life. As a result of Peter’s leadership and his unwavering dedication, we are in a position to do so, and for this we are indebted to him.
