Michael Headrick Obituary, Michael Headrick has died - Death

Michael Headrick Death, Obituary – On Thursday, January 12, 2023, Michael Kenneth Headrick, Sr., age 73, was taken from this world in an unexpected way. His parents, the late James Kenneth Headrick and Flora Dooley Headrick, welcomed him into the world on December 19, 1949 in Roanoke, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James “Timmy” Headrick and Clifford N. Headrick. His grandparents also passed away before him. Mike worked as a truck driver for multiple companies over the course of more than 40 years, earning the Million Mile Safe Driving Award before retiring from Saia LTL Freight.

He then went on to pursue other interests. Mike was a man who was passionate about many things, but his faith, his family, and his friends were the things that he cared about the most. Mike always managed to deliver the most heartfelt and moving prayers that anyone could ever hope to hear, regardless of the context. Mike had a lot of fun going camping, playing pool, and working on a variety of projects with the people he cared about. He was a devoted follower of everything Volkswagen-related.

Mike faced the difficulties of life with a positive attitude and a firm trust in the plans that God had for him. To know Mike was to know a man of unwavering faith who is kind, compassionate, and who puts others before himself. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Culver Headrick; his daughter, Honey Shea Sulich (and her husband Tony); his son, Michael K. Headrick, Jr. (and his wife Melissa); his sister, Connie Ella Ezell; five grandchildren, Amber, Chad, Austin, Ashton, and Aiden; four great grandchildren, Colton, Kinzlee, Taylynn, and Tinlee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

On the 17th of January, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, Reverend Aaron Cross will preside over a funeral service that will be held at the Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel of the Sturtevant Funeral Home. Those who are unable to attend in person will be able to watch the event via live stream. On Monday evening, between the hours of 5:30 and 7:00 PM, the family will host a visitation for friends at the funeral home.
