Michael Clayton Death, Obituary – Michael James Clayton, 33 years old, a resident of Des Moines, was stabbed to death on Saturday night, and detectives with the Des Moines Police Department have identified him as the victim of the attack. Michael James Clayton was the victim of the stabbing. The police brought 28-year-old Jason Gene Parker into arrest shortly after spotting him hiding out in a nearby property early on Sunday morning. He was charged with first-degree murder and is still being held.
In the 3200 block of 30th Street, approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, representatives of the fire department and police officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a stabbing that had taken place in that location. According to a press release issued by the police, they were able to find Clayton and take him to the hospital, but he ultimately passed away as a result of his injuries while he was there. The police say that Parker attacked Clayton with a knife, and that knife was found at the scene of the crime afterward.
There were a number of witnesses to the stabbing, as stated in a news statement, and surveillance camera footage showed Parker departing the site after the assault had place. This marks the third homicide that has occurred in Des Moines in the year 2023. Detectives with the Des Moines Police Department are continuing their investigation.
