Mary Mooney Death, Obituary – The last week of last month saw the passing of Mary Mooney, who was a significant person in the sport of rodeo and a member of the SZRA. We will miss Mary Mooney greatly, and it is with a heavy heart that we say farewell to her. Because Mary spent so much time participating in the SZRA and working as the Secretary of the Taralga Rodeo Committee for the longest amount of time, she was a well-known face in the rodeo community. Many people’s lives will be profoundly altered without her presence.
She was the loving wife of Peter Mooney, who also passed away, and the daughter of the late Allan Clark and Nellie Clark (née Brown), who both passed away. Both of her parents passed away. Mary was the cherished mother of Hilary Tugwood (Dave), who resided in Picton, Ontario, and David Mooney (Tammy), who resided in Kelowna, British Columbia, respectively. She was the most beloved grandmother of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom predeceased her: Colton, Evan, Reuben, Kadence, Kylie, and Quinn.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren included Darren, Emily, Melanie, Nicole, and Jason. Her brother John Clark (Jean), who lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick, is the only member of Mary’s immediate family to survive her death. Her three nieces, Shevaun, Alanna, and Aaron, as well as her nephew, will all remember their aunt with a special fondness for the rest of their lives.
