Marcus Smith Death, Obituary – Last week, the body of a guy who was originally from Durham was found in the 600 block of North Heritage Circle in the city of Chapel Hill. The suspect has been recognized by the Chapel Hill authorities. Marcus Anthony Smith, a 24-year-old man who lived in Durham, had his body found not far from the Chapel Ridge apartment complex at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Smith was a resident of Durham. Thursday was the day that the shooting took place, as stated by the police, who stated that they responded to a call to 911 reporting the occurrence.

The body of Smith was reportedly found at the scene of the crime, and the investigation into what happened to him is still underway, as stated in the press statement issued by the police. Within the preceding week, the Chapel Hill Police Department had investigated two separate homicides. This was the second of those cases. K’son Lamoriquia Thorpe, an Oxford man who was 27 years old when he died, was found dead in the parking lot of a public housing apartment building on South Estes Drive Extension on January 9. The body was discovered by law enforcement personnel.

Someone in the area called 911 on Monday evening about 10:30 p.m., which, according to the police, was what led to the finding of Thorpe’s death in the neighborhood. There has been no fresh information made public by the police regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Thorpe or any prospective suspects. Calling 911 or dialing 919-968-2760 on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. is the best way for anyone who may have information on the homicides to get in touch with the Chapel Hill Police Department.
