Leonard Siebenaler Obituary, Death – When we found out that Father Leonard Siebenaler had passed away on Monday evening in Hastings, we were left with a sorry heart, and it is with that dreadful heart that we are conveying the news that he passed away. Father Leonard Siebenaler had been a beloved member of the Hastings community for many years. The most of his time as a priest in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis was spent serving as an apprentice to Father Leonard.
He gave almost all of his life to the vocation of being a priest in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The origins of Father Leonard’s life may be traced all the way back to New Trier, the city in which he also spent his formative years as a young man. New Trier is where his journey began. The funeral preparations are currently in the process of receiving their final touches.
Dear Lord, I pray that you may bestow upon him the peace that only eternity can provide, and that the light that illuminates eternity may shine upon him.
It is my hope that his soul, together with the souls of all the obedient individuals who have passed away before him, may find permanent rest in the presence of God, thanks to the grace of God. Amen. Leonard was involved in a wide variety of organizations, including the Tri-State German Club, the Knights of Columbus, the St. Michael Catholic Church, the Defiance County Farm Bureau, the Defiance County Soil Conservation District, and the Hicksville Rotary Club, to name a few.
Before he did it, his parents, three brothers (Richard, baby Bernard, and Eldon Siebenaler), and four sisters (Ethelinda Schiesser, Joann Pranger, Rita Roalofs, and Julianna Wilson) all left. Along with Julianna Wilson, Richard, and Bernard, who was still an infant at the time, Eldon Siebenaler was one of his brothers. Additionally, one of his brothers was named Julianna Wilson. Before he went away, he was the sole living member of his family; all of his other relatives had passed away before him.
