Kimberly, who went by the nickname “Kim,” worked as a critical care nurse at the Ascension Genesys Hospital, where she was also very engaged as the chief union steward and as a member of the State Board of Nursing. Kim’s employment at the hospital, where she had been employed for more than eighteen years, consumed her life to a great extent.

She was devoted to providing excellent care to patients as well as to caring for her coworkers and maintaining meaningful connections with them. Throughout the course of her nursing career, she worked her way up from the position of nursing assistant to that of registered nurse, and ultimately earned a nursing bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University. Traveling and spending time with her friends and family were two of her favorite things to do in her spare time. Her favorite vacations were those she took with her girlfriends to Hilton Head and other beach destinations. Prim and foremost, she cherished the experience of camping for the camaraderie, independence, and relaxation it offered.

Kim is survived by her mother Kathleen Humphries, daughter Gabrielle “Bell,” son Blaine, grandson Curtis, brother Rick (Ashley) Humphries, ex-husband Brian Cox, five nieces and nephews, and a large number of other loved family members and friends. She will be greatly missed. Her maternal grandmother Earlene Kaplan, her paternal stepfather Edward Doyle, and her brother Matthew Humphries all passed away before she did. She will be sorely missed by everyone.
