Karla Lipman Obituary, Death – Karla Lipman has passed away. Karla was born in Triumph, Minnesota, on August 15, to David and Marlene (Cook) Lipman. She relocated to Mercedes, Texas, then to Via Del Carmen, Mexico, before relocating to Blue Earth, Minnesota, with her family, after previously residing in Sherburn, Minnesota. She and her family moved to Crockett, Texas, in 1971, and stayed there until the following year, when she relocated to Ormsby. She completed her schooling at St. James and graduated in 1974. Her alma mater was St. James. Karla earned her accreditation as a certified practical nurse from South Central Technical College in 1997.
Karla retired in 2016 after 25 years as a Licensed Practical Nurse at St. James Hospital. She was employed there until 2016. She and Gary Schwanz exchanged wedding vows and became husband and wife on April 2, 1977, at the Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota. After married, the couple moved to St. James to raise their children and build a home. Karla was a devout adherent of the ideas taught at St. James’ Augustana Lutheran Church. Camping, gardening, and spending time with her children and grandchildren were among her favorite pastimes. She was not afraid of trying something new.
She made deep ties with the other women in her camping group and looked forward to spending time with her brothers and sisters and going on adventures with them. Her mother, Marlene Ann Lipman of Raeford, North Carolina, and her two sons, Michael (Brooke) Schwanz of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Daron Schwanz of St. James, Minnesota, survive her, as do her two grandchildren, Oliver and Fiona; her brothers and sisters, Steven Lipman of Cedar Park, Texas, Carol (Mark) Johnson of Raeford, North Carolina, Don Lipman of Edgemont, South Dakota, Carol Lipman of North Plymouth, Minnesota, and Carol
