John Nichols Obituary, Death – On September 28, 2022, John (Jack) Weir Nichols, age 89, passed away in a tranquil manner at his home in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. On February 3, 1933, he was born in Taylor, which is located in Lackawant to County, Pennsylvania. His parents, Joseph Griffith Nichols and Helen Weir Nichols, have since passed away. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph G. Nichols and two of his sisters, Alice Little and Lila Nichols. His parents passed away while he was a young boy. Jack looked back on his time in West Chester Borough, particularly in Riggtown and on Nields Street, with fondness.

Anna Miscovich of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, was Jack’s longtime major love, and he leaves behind her as well as his sister Helen (Mickey) Jensen of Naples, Florida, and other nieces and nephews in the Chester County region. He got both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Education from West Chester Teachers College, which he attended. After 30 years of devoted service, Jack took his retirement from Henderson High School in West Chester, where he had taught Social Studies and European History until that point. From August 1958 through November 1962, Jack served his country with honor in the United States Army, first as a soldier stationed in Germany and then in the Army Reserves back in the United States.

Jack was an avid fisherman and loved the sport in a variety of locations throughout the east coast, including the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays, Canada, Nova Scotia, Venezuela, and Baja, Mexico. Along with that, he looked forward to going on vacation with Anna to places such as Russia, Greece, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Nova Scotia, and Balta Mexico. Jack would put in a lot of hours working as a carpenter all across Chester County when he wasn’t out fishing or going on trips. In addition to being an expert home builder, you might frequently find him in his workshop crafting furniture. Jack will be remembered at a private ceremony.
