John Davis Obituary, Longtime Member Of The Evergreen Players Has Died

John Davis Obituary, Death – John died quietly at home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a brief battle with heart failure. He genuinely liked every moment of his life, which was filled with love, passion, and joy. John grew up in the Ann Arbor, Michigan, neighborhood, where he and his three brothers were regularly in trouble. While attending Oberlin College, he met his future wife, Kathleen. The pair married in 1966 and moved to Evergreen, Colorado. His father ignited his interest in flying, and he went on to have a great career with United Airlines that spanned nearly 40 years. John began as a union officer and worked his way up to become a part of United’s management team, eventually becoming a Fleet Captain for 747-400s. After retiring from the airline sector, he worked as an instructor at Boeing.

Both John and his wife were passionate about the performing arts, and they were both active members of the Evergreen Players for a total of 56 years. He was typically the “principal person” for technical theater and also the organization’s financial steward. John’s top priority in life was his family. He made an effort to spend quality time with his grandchildren and planned trips that included the entire family. Another aspect that emphasized his love for his family was his close relationship with his brothers.

John has a carefree attitude toward life and was quite polite to everyone he met. He loved the wild outdoors and had recently been spotted skiing black diamonds. Hiking in the mountains was a common hobby for him and Kathleen, and they even climbed a few 14ers. Kathleen Davis, his wife of 56 years, survives him, as do his two daughters, Jamie (Jeff) Lewallen of Evergreen and Anna (Dexter) Chow of Menlo Park, California, as do his four grandchildren, Gabriel Jonathan Chow, Sam Beatrice Kenney, Leon Halaki Chow, and Patrick John Kenney, and his three brothers, Gary Davis of Sonoma, California, Lee Davis of Ludlow, Vermont, and Richard Davis of Loveland, Colorado. John is also survived by his three children.
