Jimmy Judge Obituary, Death –  On Saturday, Jimmy Judge, who had served for a significant amount of time in the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, passed away. As Judge traveled for treatments and fellow cops and local businesses joined forces to collect money to assist cover his medical expenditures, his fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) became the focus of multiple reports on News4JAX. In an interview that took place in January 2021 with News4Jax, Judge stated that he will fight till the very end of his life.

Judge, who served with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office for close to 32 years, is survived by his wife, Shannon, and his son, Jakie. Jakie is also a veteran of the agency. On Saturday, T.K. Waters, the Sheriff of Jacksonville, issued a statement regarding Judge’s passing via social media. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has suffered the loss of a treasured member of our family today. Jimmy Judge was a dedicated employee who has approximately 32 years of experience with our organization and served with pride and distinction. When Jimmy was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief by Sheriff Mike Williams, he held the record for the most years of service as a lieutenant. Jimmy’s fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) was marked by remarkable bravery on his part.

He was well-liked by many people, and the loss of his presence is keenly felt not just by active and former deputies of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office but also by residents of the Jacksonville community as a whole. My deepest condolences go out to his wife, Shannon, and to their son, Jakie, on behalf of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. I am sorry for your loss.
