J.C. Lightfoot Death, Obituary – I just found out that J.C. Lightfoot, JR., a member of our church who passed away on January 5th, is no longer with us. I was saddened to hear this news. Funeral services for him were held on Friday of this week. Even though it has been quite some time since he was spotted in the congregation, the last time we saw him, he was seated in the very first row in the overflow portion of the sanctuary. This is true even though it has been quite some time. Our thoughts and prayers are with Vivian, his wife of 64 years, their four daughters, and their six grandchildren.
Also included in this group is his family. In 1979, he was given a call to teach the word of God, and in 1982, he was ordained as a minister to carry out that calling. Due to the fact that his health was deteriorating, he was eventually forced to resign down from his position as Pastor at the Pittsburg Missionary Baptist Church, where he had served for approximately 29 years. After some time had passed, he resumed his career as a preacher, and despite the fact that his health was deteriorating, he continued to serve as pastor at both the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church right up until the time of his death. Eventually, he passed away.
His mother and father, in addition to his brother Gene, had all previously passed away before to his passing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeannette, his children, Joe Lightfoot and wife Melissa of Polk, and Nancy Gervais and husband John of Polk, as well as his grandchildren, Brian Stalker and wife Sarah, Brandon Stalker, Cody Polodna and wife Kristin, and Cody Polodna and wife Kristin. He was married to Jeannette for 56 years. The month of his passing was March.
