Isaac Arnaldo Death, Obituary – After losing control of his motorcycle and falling onto the roadway on Interstate 85 in Randolph County on Wednesday morning, a man from Lexington was killed when he was struck by a tractor-trailer and run over by the vehicle. The accident occurred after the man had lost control of his motorcycle and fallen onto the roadway. The occurrence took place in the wee hours of the morning on that particular day.
According to the information that was provided by the North Carolina Highway Patrol, officers responded to a call about a traffic accident in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 at Finch Farm Road in Randolph County at approximately six in the morning. Isaac Arnaldo Olivas, 29, of Lexington, was driving a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when, according to the authorities of the police department, he abruptly applied the brakes, which caused the motorcycle to roll over and ejected Olivas onto the street.
Olivas was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Olivas was thrown off of the motorcycle when it flipped over and became upside down. Olivas, who was walking in the road at the time of the collision, was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Joseph Lee Uphoff, 53, of Concord. Uphoff was driving the vehicle. Olivas was out and about, walking in the street. Olivas was heading in the same direction as the Freightliner, which had been produced in 2017, and the driver of the Freightliner was unable to avoid colliding with Olivas.
