Florence Kalmakoff Death, Obituary – On Monday, January 9, 2023, soon after 10 o’clock in the evening, members of Florence Kalmakoff’s family gathered at Hardy View Lodge to share the sad news that she had passed away. Florence Kalmakoff had been a resident of Grand Forks, British Columbia. They do it with a great deal of remorse and an abundance of affection, as this statement is being made. She had a total of 88 years of experience under her belt. members of Florence’s family who are still alive are her son Jim, her daughters Kathy (Michael), Laurie (Tony), and Donna (Mark), and her son Jim.
They will all miss her very much. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chelsea (Will), Kevin (Ashley), Matthew (Elena), Nicholas (Brittney), and Troy (Ashlyn), as well as her great-grandchildren Kearra, Eva, Ellie, Kallen, and Maxcine, of whom she was very proud. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren Kearra, Eva, Ellie, Kallen, and Maxcine. It is imperative that the name of her cat, Genie, not be forgotten. Both Florence and her late husband Alex had been active participants in the USCC for a significant amount of time. Florence was recognized during the 2019 Annual General Meeting for the considerable contributions she had made to our organization as well as the dedication she had showed to it over the course of her involvement with it.
She was also a “power” in our kitchen, and while she was there, all of us enjoyed each other’s company a great deal more than we normally would have done otherwise. A kind and generous person who always made sure to offer a nice smile and a warm greeting to anyone she came into contact with. We are going to miss having her here with us. Anyone who knew Florence is cordially invited to a traditional Doukhobor funeral service that will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Grand Forks USCC Community Centre commencing at 10:00 a.m. The family would like to extend an invitation to anyone who knew Florence to attend the event.
The interment will take place in Sion Cemetery, and immediately following that, there will be a luncheon served in her honor.
