Cvjetko Milanovic Obituary, Death – Cvjetko Milanovic, a cherished member of our Foundation and our Lifetime Membership, died away not too long ago, and the committee and the rest of the members of the Croatian Sports Centre are in profound mourning over the news of his death. Our deepest sympathies go out to Marica, as well as to their children Drina, Gloria, Veronica, and Mariana, and the rest of the Milanovic family. Our condolences are also extended to the rest of the Milanovic family.
It is impossible to overestimate Cvjetko’s dedication to the Croatian community in South Australia, particularly during the difficult early years that encompassed the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. These decades were exceptionally difficult for the Croatian community. These decades saw the birth of the Croatian community that would eventually become established in South Australia. He devoted an unremitting effort toward the goal of sustaining a flourishing Croatian culture in the newly constituted territory and bringing together Croatians who were already living in South Australia.
This was one of his primary objectives. We, as members of HOP, recognize and cherish his contributions to our community, which include his participation in dance, soccer, and political activity. Specifically, we acknowledge and value his contributions to our community through his participation in these activities. To be more specific, these contributions include the following: He is devoted to the Croat people, which he is a part of.
As he has gotten older, the value of his continued contributions to the establishment and operation of the Croatian Sports Centre has been increasingly apparent. These contributions have been especially important in the more recent years. He has been a significant contributor to the success of these initiatives. The warm grin that he maintained at all times and the wonderful anecdotes that he related to others will be sorely missed. During this trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with the extended families as we work through the challenges ahead.
