Christy Hill Obituary, Death – Christy Hill Steward, who was 37 years old at the time of her death on January 17, 2023, passed away with her family at her side. She had been enduring the ordeal of cancer treatment. Christy’s entire youth was spent in Goldsboro, and she has very fond memories of the town. She moved to Greenville so that she could continue her study at East Carolina University, where she eventually earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in the year 2007.
Christy pursued a career in nursing and after graduation found work as a traveling nurse. She moved around the United States. In the end, she chose to make Greenville her permanent home and found work at both the Vidant Medical Center and ECU Health. Christy worked as a clinical instructor for students who were simultaneously enrolled in classes at East Carolina University and Pitt Community College. She was a candidate for a number of nursing accolades and distinctions, which she may or may not have won. During that time, she had the good fortune to meet and marry Nick Steward, the man who would go on to become the love of her life.
They have been together ever since. Their two incredibly beautiful children, Kendall and Hudson, were a present and a blessing for their family. She was a passionate supporter of making one’s family one’s top priority in life. She was totally and completely devoted to Jesus as her savior. Christy’s passion for people shone through in the way that she was not only skilled at her job but also very considerate toward the patients she cared for and delighted in making them laugh. This demonstrated that Christy’s love for people was contagious.
