Chief Deputy Christopher Stratton said officials responded to the scene after receiving the report.
Deputy sheriffs found a woman who was lifeless and lying in the driveway of a house when they arrived. It was determined that she had passed away at the site. Casey Hamblin Moss, 39 years old, was named by the police as the woman who was found early on Wednesday morning. The son of the person who called 911 is claimed to have told investigators that the passenger of another vehicle opened fire on his fiancée when the couple was driving on Golden Meadow Court, according to the sheriff’s office.
It appears that this was not a random act of violence, as stated by the police. According to the investigators, it all started with a disagreement over money during a cocaine transaction. According to the police, this led to a chase that ultimately resulted in a shooting. The inquiry, as far as the authorities can tell, is still taking place. The police have not revealed any information on the suspect.
