Brenda Davis Obituary, Death – Davis, Brenda Simmons Davis died peacefully and gracefully on January 13, 2023, at her home at 70 Avocado Court in Lake Jackson, Texas. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her close family. She had turned 72 years old. Brenda was born on March 11, 1950, in Enterprise, Alabama, to James Curtis Simmons and Fannie Ailene Mills Simmons. She attended Dothan High School for her education. On the 10th of August, 1984, she married Richard (Rick) Davis in Topeka, Kansas. She formerly worked at the Farley Nuclear Power Plant in Columbia, Alabama, the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant in Burlington, Kansas, and the South Texas Nuclear Power Plant near Bay City, Texas.
Brenda quickly gained the sympathy and respect of those around her because she was a sensitive and compassionate person with strong principles. She cared deeply about both people and animals, but her favorites were hummingbirds and little dachshunds. Her favorite interests included reading, gardening, and needlepoint/cross stitch. Her parents and two brothers, Bobby and Tony Simmons, both of Dothan, Alabama, died before her. Her husband Rick survives, as do her daughters Stephanie Thompson Mezulic of Lake Jackson, Texas, Jessica Thompson Laskoskie of Kemah, Texas, grandson Adrian Tyler Hinojosa of Houston, Texas, sister Loretta Simmons Price of Geneva, Alabama, and Jessica Thompson Laskoskie of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Brenda and her family received expert, compassionate, and Christian care from the wonderful staff at Divinity Hospice in Angleton, Texas. Brenda’s family would like to express their profound appreciation to the workers at the hospital. There are no scheduled services at this time.
