Brenda Christen Obituary, Death – On January 17, 2023, Brenda D. Christian, who had previously called Jacksonville, North Carolina, home, passed away at the age of 65 in Bolivia at the LifeCare Center. Brenda D. Christian had previously called Jacksonville, North Carolina, home. Her parents, L.W. Dean and Edna Dean, had both passed away before she was born, therefore she was raised by her grandparents. She was born and lived in Durham.
She received her undergraduate degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her graduate degree in teaching from East Carolina University. Both of these degrees are in the same field. She was a public elementary school teacher for the entirety of her career, which spanned four decades, and throughout that time, she taught in cities and towns across the country, wherever her husband, Don, was called to preach.
She began her career as a teacher in Danville, Virginia, before relocating to Rutherford County, North Carolina, and ultimately settling in Onslow County, North Carolina, where she has been employed as a teacher for the past 17 years and got her National Board Certification. Her husband, Don Christian, their sons Brandon Christian of Wingate, North Carolina, and Brad Christian and his wife, Rachel, of Concord, North Carolina, as well as their two grandchildren.
