Betty Smith Obituary, Death – Mrs. Betty Smith, who resided in Cascilla and was 86 years old at the time of her passing on January 15, 2023, passed away at her home. She was born on November 26th, 1936 in Marks to parents named Winston Thomas and Dorothy Brooks Caffey. Her grandparents were also named Dorothy Brooks Caffey. Dorothy Brooks Caffey was also the name of her grandmother’s parents. Both of her parents worked as teachers at some point in their lives. Betty was a devoted member of the Cascilla Baptist Church and had served as a Social Worker at the Grenada Living Center for a significant portion of her life. In addition to that, Betty was employed at the Grenada Living Center as a Social Worker. In addition to being a person who sincerely loved her family, Betty will be remembered for a very long time as someone who was devoted not only as a friend but also as a wife.
McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service will be in charge of making the necessary arrangements for the funeral services, which are scheduled to take place on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. The Reverend Gary Bunch has agreed to act in the capacity of officiant for the occasion. Immediately after the service, the burial will take place in the Grenada Memorial Garden where the service was held. Before the start of the funeral ceremony on Friday, the family will be available to meet and greet guests at the funeral home located at McKibben and Guinn beginning at noon on that day. This will carry on up until the beginning of the service.
The members of her family are as follows: her husband, Willard Earl Smith; two sons, Michael Joseph Lukacs of Courtland and Gregory Stephen Lukacs of Cascilla; two step-daughters, Darlene King and Jeannie Morris, both of Cascilla; her step-son, Richard Earl Smith of Cascilla; three grandchildren, Magen Marie Grimes, Casey Logan Lukacs, and Olivia Madison Smith; and three great-grandchildren Her husband is the only person who will remember her. Her parents had already left this world before she was born. ONHer parents and her brother, Buddy Caffey, had passed away before to her passing, so she was the only surviving member of her family. She was the only child who had ever been born into her family.
