On Herring Road, west of Edison Road, and southwest of Arvin, a vehicle in which Bakersfield resident Alondra Alvarez, who was 20 years old, was a passenger and died as a result, flipped many times, resulting in her death. She was reportedly ejected from the vehicle, and the coroner reported that she was found to have passed away at the scene of the collision. The California Highway Patrol reports that three additional people were thrown and sustained injuries ranging from serious to mild severity as a result of the collision.
At the time of the collision, the authorities said that none of the individuals in the vehicle were using their seatbelts as required by law. It was stated by the California Highway Patrol that four occupants inside a car that crashed on Saturday night southwest of Arvin were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. A woman was killed as a direct result of the collision. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), on January 14, 2023, at approximately 8:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a car that had flipped over on Herring Road, which is located west of Edison Road and southwest of Arvin. The incident was reported to have occurred on the southwest side of Arvin.
According to the complaint from the California Highway Patrol, an adult male of 22 years of age was observed driving a 2006 Infinity westbound on Herring Road past Edison Road at a speed that was unknown. He reportedly lost control of the Infinity and drove it in an irregular manner across the eastbound lane before crashing into a dirt field south of Herring Road, as stated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Ongoing research is being done to determine what led to him losing control of the situation. Before finally coming to a stop on its roof, the vehicle underwent a series of rollovers.
Unfortunately, the severity of the collision caused all four people inside the Infinity to be thrown; a female passenger was among those who suffered fatal injuries.
The California Highway Patrol said that the driver and one of the passengers had had critical injuries, whereas the other passenger had moderate to mild injuries.
