Albert Doran Obituary, Death – We regret to inform you of the demise of Retired Reserve Officer Albert Doran Jr., and offer our most sincere sympathies to his family and friends. It is with sad hearts that we must inform you of his passing. During this trying time, we want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. In the late 1980s, Al signed up to become a member of the Auxiliary Unit of the Houston Police Department, and he remained in that position all the way up until the early 2000s.

During the entirety of his tenure with the department, he served in this capacity at all times. It was in the year 1992 when he was given the promotion to the post of Reserve Officer, and he remained in that capacity right up to the time of his retirement in the year 2001. His final year of active service was 2001. This designation, which serves as a mark of distinction, was conferred upon him.  He continued to perform the responsibilities that came with holding that position right up to the point where it was time for him to start his retirement, at which point he left his job. His fellow officers held him in extremely high regard and revered him for the job that he accomplished as a proud member of the Honor Guard. His accomplishments in this role earned him the respect of his peers. This esteem was acquired by him as a result of his achievements while serving in the Honor Guard. As a direct consequence of his service, he earned an exceptionally high level of respect from everyone who was in his immediate vicinity.
